VANDRBIJLPARK. – A 44-year-old teacher from Vanderbijlpark has been arrested after she allegedly hired three men to beat up her domestic worker, whom she accused of stealing rings worth R35 000.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Gertrude Makhale confirmed that the teacher has been charged with kidnapping, assault with grievous bodily harm and malicious damage to property.

“The victim came to open a case against her domestic worker, accusing her of stealing her rings. The officer that was opening the case then asked what happened to the accused as she was injured.

“The victim said that they had beaten the domestic worker up trying to get her to tell the truth. She was subsequently arrested for taking the law into her own hands.”
