It’s time for the Value Logistics Fast One Cycle Race!

MEYERTON. – Midvaal will once again have the opportunity to show thousands of cyclists and their supporters from all over the country its renowned hospitality when the Value Logistics Fast One Cycle Race takes place in this lovely area on January 28.
This prestigious annual race is one of the fastest – if not the fastest – in South Africa. It is organised by the Rotary Club of Riverside and all profits generated are utilized for the club’s community projects. Rotarians will once again assist with marshalling and water points.
The race starts and finishes at the Midvaal Raceway in Meyerton.
Cyclists don’t have to qualify to take part but all participants (both for the 96 and 50 km races) have to be holders of a CSA license. This license may consist of one of the following:
* Full racing license
* Membership license
* Day license for riders not holding one of the above.


For safety reasons, no person younger than 12 may enter the 96 km race. If a younger person wants to ride, he or she can enter the 50 km fun ride, provided that written consent is given by a parent or guardian.Participants can ride any traditional bicycle or tandem bicycle that is not motorised. Recumbent bicycles are also allowed in certain categories.

Cyclists will have five hours to complete the event – within each group’s start time. The organisers stress that no cyclist will be permitted to ride without a recognised cycling safety helmet.

Entries are via the Internet only and therefore payment needs to be made with a valid credit or debit card. Entries close on January 16. Late entries will be accepted on January 25 and 26 from 09:00 to 17:00 at Cycle Lab Megastore, Fourways and on January 27 from 09:00 to 13:00 at President Hyper, Bedworthpark.
