VANDERBILJPARK. – A young woman identified only as Palesa was in great pain after she was knocked down by a car in Frikkie Meyer Boulevard, Vanderbijlpark, last week.

Emergency personel were called to the scene and attended to the badly injured woman after she was allegedly knocked down by a passing car while trying to cross the busy road. Three ambulances arrived at the scene of the accident but the injured woman was moved only an hour after the accident. Emergency personnel told Sedibeng Ster that they were waiting for injections before they could move her. “We could not move her,  we needed to stabilise her first with an injection,” they explained.

A woman who was driving the car involved said that Palesa was crossing the road without noticing oncoming cars. “I hit her with the outside rear-view mirror,” she said. The injured Palesa was left with a broken leg and arm. She was rushed to hospital for further treatment.
