Former ELM Mayor donates Shoes to disadvantaged kids

The Mahole Mofokeng Foundation brought smiles to the learners and educators of Dinokeng Primary School at Marlbank plot when they distributed pairs of shoes and socks to the needy learners recently.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – The former Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), Simon Mahole Mofokeng has distributed school shoes and socks to disadvantaged children from rural schools.

The movement called the Mahole Mofokeng Foundation plays a major role in changing the lives of needy students.The  foundation’s main focus is the provision of school shoes and socks, to be followed by the provision of blankets which will be handed over to certain households.

So far three primary schools namely, The Barrage, Nonadiba and Dinokeng have benefited from the  initiative. Mofokeng encouraged local businesses to also make donations to the foundation.During the handover, the faces of the beneficiaries  reflected  gratitude and joy. others were just grateful that they would no longer have to go to school bare-footed.

Dinokeng Head of Department,  Snowi Ramakapane said ”We are over overjoyed to have received the attention of the foundation. I hope that the contribution of the foundation will  also be appreciated by the parents of these needy learners.” Ramakapane said that the school looked at the most needy students to be the beneficiaries  of the handover.
