Tsotetsi launches coaching career in style

SEDIBENG. – As Sedibeng Ster Sport predicted – Maccabi FC will campaign in the National First Division next season thanks to former Kaizer Chiefs and Jomo Cosmos hardman Mokete Tsotetsi.

With his first season as the head coach in the ABC Motsepe League, Tsotetsi made history when he helped the team gain promotion to the NFD in the new season. This was after Maccabi FC did exceptionally well at the ABC Motsepe National Play-offs which came to an recently.

In a previous interview with Sedibeng Ster Sport, the Boipatong born and bred coach made his intentions clear that come the new season Maccabi FC will be campaigning in the NFD and a dream came true for Tsotetsi when he led Maccabi FC to the NFD.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Tsotetsi said he didn’t expect to launch his coaching career in this fashion. However, he said it was always his wish to become a coach – only he didn’t expect it to happen so soon. “I really want to thank all the people who played a role in shaping my coaching career. I know it is not going to be easy in NFD but I’m equal to the task and I can’t wait for the season to kick off. I also want to thank the club chairman and technical staff because it was a team effort to be where we are now,” said Tsotetsi.

Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) Secretary, Martin Mpholo congratulated Tsotetsi. Tsotetsi was among the coaches who attended the Safa B Licence Coaching Courses organised by ELFA. Mpholo said they are proud of Tsotetsi taking into consideration that he is their product in terms of coaching qualifications.

“We as the Emfuleni Local Football Association want to take this opportunity to congratulate Mr Tsotetsi for his achievement in his short career in coaching. We also wish his team well and I have no doubt Mr Tsotetsi has the potential to become a household name in South African football as a coach,” he concluded
