SEDIBENG.- Kgosi Sebotsa was among the top goal scorers when he scored a total of seven goals at the Tricolor Games.

These came to an end in Italy over the weekend. The exciting midfielder was part of the SA U/17 Tricolor team that made not only South Africa but the African continent proud when they beat Slovakia 5 – 1 in the final to bring gold medals home. To top his performance, Sebotsa was on the score sheet in the final to take his tally to seven goals scored since the start of the tournament.

Some Sedibeng players who formed part of the South Africa Tricolor Team, both boys and girls, were Freez Goolam, Funekile Mofokeng, Nhlanhla Mkhonza, Thando Nhlapo and Kutlwano Chale. Safa Sedibeng Regional Executive Officer, Beauty Molise was the South African Tricolor team’s manager.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport on his arrival, Sebotsa said competing against the best in the world was a dream come true for the team. He said this was his first experience competing at an international level.

“I think personally I have learned a lot in Italy, especially as far as the development of players there goes. They take football very seriously there, unlike here at home. It is my dream to go and play overseas one day and I have a feeling this will happen,” said Sebotsa.
