Sicelo Primary to respresent Sedibeng in Danone Nations Cup U/12 Play Offs

Arcon Park Primary School was the first primary school that made history when they represented Gauteng at the Danone U/12 Cup Nationals last year.

MEYERTON. – Sicelo Primary School of Meyerton will represent Sedibeng in the Danone U/12 Cup Provencial play-offs scheduled to take place at the Sun-Credo College in Johannesburg on Saturday.
This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by the Sedibeng Football Coordinator, Sello “Meneer” Tshabalala. The Danone Cup is for primary schools and eight schools will battle for a place in the Danone U/12 Cup Nationals. They are: St Josephs Kulani Primary, St Davids Marist Indanda Primary, Phakama Primary, Thembalethu Primary, Zumukhanyo Primary, Semelulwazi Primary, Bonamelo Primary and Sicelo Primary School.

Tshabalala said Sicelo Primary School will represent Sedibeng after they emerged as the overall winners after beating Arcon Park Primary School among other schools. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Tshabalala urges all the Sedibeng schools to rally behind Sicelo Primary School as they will be representing the Sedibeng region. Arcon Park Primary made history when they went all the way to represent Sedibeng and Gauteng Province in the Danone National Cup last year.

“I’m confident that Sicelo Primary School will make us proud and just like Arcon Park Primary School they can qualify for the nationals if they play the way they played in the regional play-offs held at General Smuts Secondary School in Vereeniging recently. I urge Sedibeng schools to go and support this school because they are representing not only themselves but Sedibeng as a region,” he concluded.
