MEYERTON. – A serial killer is suspectedly on the loose in Meyerton.

This view follows the discovery of a body belonging to a 16-year-old woman in the area recently.

It is believed that the body of Zoleka Ngwenya is the fifth case of a woman found killed in the area in nine months. Ngwenya’s body was found with stab wounds. She was suspectedly raped and stabbed with a screw driver.

According to Police all five cases have been transferred to the Provincial Division of the Police.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Maria Letsile confirms that cases have been opened into the murder of Ngwenya and the other four.

Letsile said they are going to boost Police visibility to bring stability into the area. Angry community members feel that Police are doing nothing to prevent the murders.

“We are dying as women. What have we done to deserve such cruelty? “We are totaly not safe in this area. Five women have been killed in a space of nine months and no arrests have been made.”

Midvaal Local Municipal Executive Mayor Bogani Baloyi poured his heart out to the family of Ngwenya.

“We would like to send our condolences to the family and we are also sad that Police have not arrested anyone in connection with any of the five cases,” said Baloyi
