ZAMDELA. – Manco Milano FC has their fingers crossed to gain promotion to the ABC Motsepe League in the Free State stream.
The SAB Play-Offs arescheduled to take place in Bloemfontein from June 12. This Sebokeng-based side was crowned the Fezile Dabi SAB League Champions after finishing at the summit of the log. Some of the teams Manco Milona FC will be up against in the play-offsare from Thabo Mafutsanyana and Lejweleputsa Municipalities’ to mention only two. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, the club supporters’ organiser Lekgwakgwa Mokoena makes a special plea to Sedibeng and Zamdela soccer fans to rally behind the team come June 12.Mokoena is a local soccer fan who is passionate about football.
The man knows the history of football like the palm of his hand. He used to be one of the greatest supporters of the now-defunct Vaal Professionals before the club was relegated from top flight football. He believes that Manco Milano FC can restore professional football to this region even if they campaign in the Free State stream. “I appeal to all soccer-loving people in Sedibeng and Sasol to come in numbers when we play in the promotional play-offs because we want to see this team playing in ABC Motsepe League games in the new season. It is not a matter of a team being from Sebokeng, but we also represent Sasol because this is where we play our games. The Zamdela people have been good to us since we started playing in the area. These people really love football and even during the days of Vaal Professionals they used to come in big numbers to support the club,” says Mokoena.
Meanwhile, Mokoena says they will reveal more details later as to exactly where the play-offs will be taking place in Bloemfontein.
